Education & Background

I was born and raised in the South Florida area and received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College. I then went on to obtain my BFA and MBA from the University of Miami. In 2007, I moved from Hawaii to Northern VA and obtained my BSN from Georgetown University. I worked as a nurse at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC on the Cardiac ICU and the Heart and Kidney Unit. I then completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree specializing in psychiatry in 2015.

I have experience treating patients suffering from psychiatric disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I currently focus on the treatment of adults with symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and attention-deficit disorders.

A Personalized and Comprehensive Approach

I approach every client interaction with patience, warmth, understanding, and helpfulness. I believe providing clear explanations of treatment plans facilitates treatment outcomes. I place high importance on patient comfort and trust. To that end, I use a flexible, integrative, and collaborative approach to meet each client’s desired outcomes.

Although being a nurse practitioner gives me the ability to prescribe medications, I do so conservatively. I feel medication is a tool to be used to facilitate symptom relief when necessary based on individual needs and preferences. Medication is only one aspect of comprehensive treatment.

When managing medications, I work with each patient’s needs and concerns, factoring in an individual’s personal history, life situation, and other factors. I make a point to work with each client surrounding any concerns they may have about using medication.

I provide a free 15-minute phone consultation with potential clients prior to scheduling an appointment to make sure I am the best fit for their needs and answer any questions they may have.

Diverse Populations

I enjoy working with individuals from a wide array of backgrounds and cultures. I also work closely with the members of the Asian-American community.
